Stay safe online with these cyber security guidelines.

The internet has changed the way children interact with the world. They have access to a wide range of information, tools to express creativity and can connect to people all over the world. But the internet also offers risks like:

  • Cyber Bullying
  • Exposure to inappropriate material
  • Online predators
  • Revealing too much personal information

So it is necessary to exercise restraint and caution while using the internet. Here are a few tips:

  • Never post your personal information, such as cell phone number, home number, home address, or your location on any social networking site or through mobile apps.
  • Check with your parents before you post pictures of yourself or others online. Do not post inappropriate pictures of anyone.
  • Students should refrain from accessing, submitting, posting, publishing, forwarding downloading, scanning or displaying defamatory, abusive, obscene, vulgar, threatening, discriminatory, harassing and/ or illegal materials.
  • Never share your password with anyone, including your best friend. The only people who should know your password are your parents or guardians.
  • Never arrange to meet someone you have met online without informing your parents.
  • Obtain permission from your parents / school before setting up your blog or personal website.

Note: Strict action will be taken in case any instances of misuse of social media to harass or bully other students or staff are found.
